Funds are available for students to supplement certain bills or needs. See below categories for more information.

Auto Repair

  • Grant funding available to assist with auto repair costs.
  • Payment to be made directly to mechanic shop, or auto body.

Grant funding available to assist health care bills.

County Health Assistance

Stop in or make an appointment for support in applying for NJ Family Care.

Location: The Student Enrollment Building (#9) 10a-4p the first Tuesday of every month

Housing

Rental Assistance

  • Funding available for rent cost support.
  • Subject to eligibility and availability of funds.
  • Coordination with community resources.

Emergency Housing

If available and eligible, students may work with grant staff or community referrals on emergency stays.


Emergency Shelters:

Stop in or make an appointment for support in applying for emergency housing.

Services include:

  • Homelessness prevention
  • Emergency Shelter

Code Blue – Emergency Warming Centers

  • Temperature of 32F or lower.
  • Ocean County Department of Human Services with partners including the Toms River Office of Emergency Management, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, Just Believe Inc. open warming centers for overnight stay throughout the county.

Emergency Shelters

Ocean County is a shelter desert and lacks open emergency shelters outside of Code Blue nights. The closest shelters to Ocean County College are:

  • Gas/Oil
  • Internet
